Charity praises efforts of 'remarkable' 91-year-old Kenilworth fundraiser

A local charity has said a "huge thank you" to a 91-year-old fundraising hero from Kenilworth for her "unwavering dedication and support".

The Myton Hospices has praised the "wonderful" Margaret Kite was has consistently supported the Warwickshire-based charity.

The charity - which runs sites in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick - says Margaret has raised over £31,000 in the past 12 months, across 218 different collections.

"In the past year, Margaret has accomplished something truly remarkable by raising an unbelievable £31,366 in aid of The Myton Hospices," the thank you message said.

"Through her unwavering dedication and support, Margaret undertook 218 bucket collections in supermarkets and other locations around the local area.

"Her remarkable commitment is a true inspiration and has led to this incredible amount being raised!

"Margaret, you are undeniably a superstar!

"Thank you to everyone who has generously contributed to Margaret's bucket collections—your support means the world to us, our patients, and their families!"

Margaret, who has lived in Kenilworth her whole life, is well known in for her charitable exploits, having also raised money for the Poppy Appeal, Teenage Cancer Trust, and Kenilworth Guide Dogs to name but a few.

Margaret was rewarded for her consistent philanthropy back in 2017 when she was awarded the British Empire Medal.

She even had a local guide dog 'Kite' named after her in 2018 in recognition for her dedicated service for Kenilworth Guide Dogs.
