Two busy roads into Kenilworth are set to be closed at the same time for at least three weeks for HS2 works.

Notices on the HS2 website state that both Crackley Lane and the A429 Kenilworth Road will be shut for an extended period of time this June.

The former is due to close from June 2 until June 21 for "utility and drainage installation works".

Meanwhile the busy link into Coventry will be shut from June 2 until July 20.

The HS2 website said: "We will be closing the existing A429 as we will be finishing embankments, reinstating and resurfacing the footpaths, positioning final utilities and completing highway drainage works.

"In order to carry out the works in a safe and secure environment, we will need to close the A429 Kenilworth Road from Monday 2 June 2025 to Saturday 28 June 2025, and from Monday 30 June 2025 to Sunday 20 July 2025. 

"The closures will be in place 24 hours a day."

The news comes despite repeated calls from Kenilworth Town Council not to shut multiple roads into town at the same time.

The A429 is also due to have traffic lights on it this week for HS2 works.
