Application for 416 homes put forward

Plans for 416 homes in Burton Green have been put forward to council planners,
Chrest Nicholson Midlands has submitted the application for the land at Westwood Heath as part of a major new housing estate already under construction.
In 2018 permission was granted for 425 homes, a shop and public open space.
Phase one of this development is now complete with some 296 homes coming in phases two to four.
This latest application seeks to add another 120 homes to that total in a new 'phase five'.

"This new stand-alone planning application therefore seeks to simplify and consolidate the various residential planning permissions which have already been granted for the site and the additional phase five proposals into a single stand-alone planning permission," the application said.
It continued: "The submitted plans therefore show detail for the full 416 dwellings, but the only changes to the details approved previously comprise: the inclusion of additional land for delivering biodiversity net gain; an additional 120 dwellings to the south; access from the internal road network approved previously into the land to the south; and the relocation of the southern area of open space approved previously to a location further south, adjacent to the additional housing.
"No other changes are being proposed to the previously approved details for the 296 dwellings in phases two to four."
The homes will be built by Crest Nicholson and William Davis.
Plans show the fifth phase would include a mixture of one, two, three, four and five bedroom homes and 40 per cent of the homes would be designated affordable.
Construction of the new supermarket approved in the original application has now begun. It will be a Sainsbury's Local.
