Air ambulance and police called to treat cyclist with 'serious' head injuries after crash in Kenilworth

An air ambulance was called to treat a cyclist who hit a wall in Abbotsford Mews, Kenilworth yesterday afternoon.

The man, in his 20's, suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital.

Warwickshire Air Ambulance landed in Abbey Fields and were able to treat the man after police closed New Street to traffic.

The incident did not involve any other vehicles, police confirmed, and the road was reopened to traffic by 4.30pm.

A Warwickshire Police statement to Nub News said: "Report received at 15.01 that a cyclist – a man in his 20's - had collided with a wall in Abbotsford Mews, Kenilworth and suffered serious head injuries.

"He was taken to hospital."

There has been no update on his condition.

Warwickshire Air Ambulance has been approached for more information.
