Over 45 members of 4th Kenilworth Scout Group enjoyed their first camping expedition since early 2020 as they made they short trip to Hatton.

A group camp including beavers, cubs and scouts from the troop enjoyed their 'Great British Weekend Fun Day' taking part in games, cooking and singing.

The leaders all dressed up and the young people tried their hand at classic British scouting activities including 'welly wanging', wet sponge throwing, fire lighting, piggy back jousting, flag painting, blindfolded cucumber sandwich making and even 'posh table laying'.

This as well as eating around their campfire and singing "loud" campfire songs.

Scout leader Caroline Farrell said: "The scouts, cubs and beavers all enjoyed the return to camping and went home happy, a little tired and grubby (signs of a good camp!)"

As well as their camping trip, the scouts have also been keeping a close eye on the bug boxes they installed in Talisman Square this June.
