The hunt is on for the new king or queen of Kenilworth Carnival as the annual event prepares for its 100 years celebrations.

First held in 1926, the carnival will return to town this summer on 27 and 28 June.

The procession will return on the Saturday as part of a weekend of festivities.

And as the preparations get underway, the committee is looking for local youngsters and the community to take part.

"Would you like to be our 100th Year Carnival Queen or King, Princess, Maid of Honour, Junior Attendant, or run a stall at this fantastic community event, now's your chance to get involved," they said.

"Businesses, schools, pubs, restaurants, and community groups are also warmly invited to join our procession.

"Download the relevant form and be part of a truly special year."
