Specsavers in Kenilworth is urging students to put their eye health on the agenda ahead of the new academic year.

While the arrival of September may evoke the need to enjoy the last few weeks of holiday or buy resources for learning, the team at Specsavers want to remind students about the importance of getting regular eye tests and looking after their eye health.

Here, Specsavers Kenilworth store director, Ambreena Bhatti, outlines why students should have an eye test as part of their university preparation.

"From catching up on studying and reading tiny fonts, to sitting in front of a screen both as part of course-related work and social life, as a student, your eyes are under constant strain and rarely catch a break," she said.

"That's why, whether you're a specs wearer or not, we encourage all students to get their eyes tested regularly.

"By having a routine eye examination, we can ensure that any problems are caught early and help prevent issues that may get in the way of your study, such as headaches and eyestrain.

"As well as checking your vision, having a regular eye test is important for monitoring overall eye health and catching potential health conditions.

"By using the latest technology , our optometrists can pick up on a range of health issues.

"Ahead of the new academic year, before schedules start to get busy and studying takes over, now is a great opportunity for students to make sure their eye health is in tip top condition.

"The team at the store are on hand to help, providing professional eye care services and advice, and with a wide range of frames starting from just £15, if you do need specs, it won't break the bank."

To speak to an expert or make an appointment, visit the store at 17 The Square, Kenilworth, call 01926 865030 or head to the website.

The store is open seven days a week; 9:00am - 7:30pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00am - 4:00pm on Sundays.
