A Kenilworth clinic has been named the top destination for laser treatment in Warwickshire - less than six months after first introducing the treatment.

Shine Medical Cosmetic Clinic scooped the prize from the Global Health and Pharma Global Excellence Awards last month, having only offered laser treatments for the first time at the end of May.

Launched in 2020, the awards highlight "innovative companies, teams and individuals" across a variety of medical fields, all over the world.

The in-house team at Global Health & Pharma Magazine spends months researching each category to find businesses "setting the highest standards, making pioneering breakthroughs and creating the most cutting-edge medical solutions".

Following the announcement, business owner Dr Shyna Raj told Nub News she was delighted with the award.

"It came completely out of the blue," she explained.

"At the end of July they contacted me to say I had been shortlisted. And then they said we had won, which was fantastic!

"I was really shocked to be honest, I wasn't expecting this at all.

"We started the laser treatment in April, so to be recognised for it so quickly was really exciting. I feel very proud."

Introducing the laser treatments was a big next step at Shine Medical Cosmetic Clinic, as it necessitated an internal makeover to make way for the new equipment.

Dr Shyna now offers laser genesis and skin therapy treatments, with a new Xeo laser from American firm Cutera.

The new offer is yet another non-invasive treatment for the clinic, which can provide quick results with little downtime - and for all skin types.

Some of the benefits include: creating a youthful complexion, reducing the appearance of sun damage, redness, wrinkles and improving skin texture.

As well as helping reduce the effects of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage and even veins, the technology can also be used for hair removal.

Dr Shyna explained: "Laser treatments are becoming very popular.

"From what I have seen, nobody else in Kenilworth is offering these sorts of treatments, so it is a new thing for the town.

"With the laser there are various things we can do. One is called laser genesis which gives energy to the skin, and stimulates collagen production to improve the texture of your skin and provide a more youthful complexion.

"Also it can help reduce redness and pigmentation problems through skin therapy."

Having already proved popular with customers, Dr Shyna said she is expecting the treatment to become even more in demand over the autumn and winter months.

And with the award coming little over a year after the business was launched, Dr Shyna looked back on a very successful first few months.

"The judges find people who set the highest standards across a number of fields, so that's great for us," she said.

"It has been just over a year now, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved here.

"We are growing the treatment portfolio and things are going really well.

"And we are also going to have a small feature about the clinic in the GHB magazine. Obviously it is a global magazine so the clinic will be known nationally and internationally!"
