The operators of Kenilworth Market have had their contract extended by Warwick District Council.

CJ's Events Warwickshire have been awarded another six year contract to run the markets in the district, having initially been appointed by WDC in 2015.

The company operates the Kenilworth, Warwick, Covent Garden Quarter and Leamington seasonal producers markets.

CJ's will also take over the Leamington Autumn and Christmas Markets following the tendering process.

A statement by CJ's Jamie Walker on the company's website said: "We are incredibly proud of our team and what we've achieved since being appointed the operator back in 2015. By securing another six years shows our work and commitment has paid off.

"We love our district and what it has on offer, and we're proud to be part of it delivering high-quality markets in partnership with Warwick District Council."

Since March 2020 all of CJs markets and the various stalls have had to cope with lockdowns, and then restrictions on reopening.

Despite this, Mr Walker's statement continued: "The markets we've managed have gone from strength to strength, and we look forward to continuing the success over the coming years, in particular the Leamington Autumn & Christmas markets.

"The past year has been a challenging year for ourselves and our traders; however, we managed to remain open over three lockdowns and have provided vital and much-needed support to small independent businesses."

Kenilworth Market is hosted in Abbey End every Thursday 9am - 3pm.
