Radio Abbey is to join six other local radio stations today in broadcasting a 'magical' music experience as part of 'Coventry Moves' today.

At 8.21pm (20.21) tonight Radio Abbey will broadcast 'Coventry Moves Together' a brand-new piece of music created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello Award-winning composer Dan Jones.

Dan Jones has created the piece after working with and using real Coventry children's stories and voices.

At exactly 8.21pm, BBC CWR, Block Radio, Radio Panj, Hillz FM, Radio Abbey, Fresh, Vanny Radio, Radio Plus and Arawak will all begin playing individual streams of music simultaneously. When played in unison, they will provide the full affect of what Dan has created.

Radio Abbey DJ Gaylita Bradley said: "We need you Kenilworth. In order to get the full effect, we need you to connect with your neighbours, friends, family to get together on your own front lawn, Abbey Fields, or (social distanced) join us live at the Kenilworth centre car park."

Husband and fellow presenter of 'Brunch With the Bradleys', Neil Bradley added: "To fully enjoy this magical experience, you need to chat with your bubble, get your smart speaker, smartphones charged and ready, and in advance to decide who's tuning into which station.

"Then at exactly 20:21, using every possible radio device - portable radios, car stereos, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, Bluetooth speakers and more – the residents of our Kenilworth will come together to share in something magical and profoundly beautiful."

The event will be filmed live at Abbey End car park and Brunch with the Bradleys will be broadcasting live straight after the event to Kenilworth and the world.
