Further details for the Kenilworth light switch on 2021 have been released by Warwick District Council.

WDC announced in September that the light switch ons for High Street and Warwick Road would happen simultaneously on Friday 26 November.

As advertised in our What's On section, Kenilworth's High Street will be starting its celebrations at 5pm with a range of food and drink stalls. Local High Street and community groups will be in attendance plus performances of Punch and Judy and an appearance from Santa with his sleigh.

The lights will be switched on at 6pm by Deputy Mayor of Kenilworth, Cllr Samantha Cooke.

Fun for all the family is available on Warwick Road, with the event getting underway at 4pm. Local artists will be performing on the main stage alongside a rock choir and a special panto performance.

Fun fair rides will be available to keep the kids entertained and there are a range of market stalls for you to browse and buy.

The lights will be switched on at 6pm by the Mayor of Kenilworth, Cllr Peter Jones.

Councillor John Cooke, cabinet member for place and economy, said: "We're looking forward to celebrating the start of the festive season in Kenilworth. With two different but equally exciting events, there's plenty of choice for everyone.

"As we know, our support for local businesses is more important than ever so when you're visiting the town this Christmas, remember to shop and support local."

Councillor Peter Jones, Mayor of Kenilworth, added: "Friday 26 November at 6pm is to me the start of the Christmas Season in Kenilworth, when all the hard work of CJ's Events, Hi-Lite Electrical and district council staff can be seen in Warwick Road and the High Street.

"Thanks to finance from the town and district councils and the Kenilworth Illuminations Committee, we will have Christmas lights and entertainment in the two venues. Let the lights begin!"
