Full Christmas light switch on to return to Kenilworth this year

By James Smith 21st Oct 2021

Details of Kenilworth's annual Christmas lights switch on have been announced by Warwick District Council.

Taking place on Friday, November 26 the lights will be switched on along High Street and Warwick Road.

As advertised in our What's On section, the switch on will take place at 6pm, with entertainment, music, food and seasonal stalls in place between 5pm and 8pm.

This year's switch on marks the return of yet another community event after the 2020 instalment was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Last year the virtual 'light up the district' event saw over 1,600 residents tune in from their living rooms to see the lights switched on and live streamed performances.

Kenilworth Councillor John Cooke said he is "delighted" to see the events return across Warwick district for 2021.

"These are a staple part of the festive season, where friends and families come together to mark the start of Christmas.

"Not only do these events provide a sense of community, but they are also a great support for our local businesses so get the dates in your diaries now and get ready to light up the district."
