Sports in Kenilworth

After drawing against Dunlop Reserves 2-2 a fortnight ago, and losing last week, Wardens Firsts were desperate for a first win of the year. Wardens faced league-leaders Dunlop at home, winning the game with a comfortable 5-0 against a very strong opposition.

Wardens were strengthened by the returning Matt Legg, Dan Neeld, Roger Kingston, Phil Rudd and Dan Twigger.

Kenilworth Sporting FC have enjoyed a dream start to their return to non-league football, with four wins from four games. However, their visit to sixth-placed Sutton United on Saturday will be the toughest test for Martin Ascroft's men so far this season.

Kenilworth Sporting have returned to Gypsy Lane this season, after the club was purchased by Geoff Harris of Coventry Plumbing and Heating Supplies.

On the club's final day of this year's most strange and shortened cricket season, Kenilworth Cricket Club's Sunday XI entertained neighbours, Leek Wootton, in a 40 overs a side friendly match. The fixture was played in front of a large crowd of supporters from both clubs, who enjoyed the last rays of the summer sun.

Kenilworth 269-5 (40 overs) beat Leek Wootton 162-10 (39 overs) by 107 runs
