Sign ups remain open for a much-loved annual run that raises thousands for the Leamington community.

The Wright Hassall Leamington Regency 10k Run, which is entering its 18th year, will take place on Sunday, September 19 at 9am after organisers decided to move the event to later in the year.

An application for the relocation of Kenilworth Rugby Club from Glasshouse Lane to the land east of Warwick Road in Kenilworth has been approved by the Planning Committee of Warwick District Council at their meeting tonight (February 2).

The relocation will see the construction of a new clubhouse, seven pitches, landscaping, earthworks, parking, access and ancillary facilities.

Kenilworth Nub News have spoken to the managers of Kenilworth Wardens FC and Kenilworth Sporting FC

With the announcement on Monday (November 23) that the second national lockdown will end at the beginning of December as planned, grassroots football will once again be able to return to Kenilworth.

Furthermore, it has been announced that spectators are due to be allowed at outdoor sporting events. In Tier One - which Kenilworth was in before the second lockdown - up to 4,000 fans will be allowed to attend outdoor matches.

As the second national lockdown ended this week Kenilworth Wardens FC finished their lockdown running competition with over 1,500 miles covered between then.

Whilst not allowed on the pitch during November, the men's football team at Kenilworth Wardens kept on top of their physical and mental sharpness by hosting a virtual running competition across the four weeks of the lockdown.
