Sports in Kenilworth

After drawing against Dunlop Reserves 2-2 a fortnight ago, and losing last week, Wardens Firsts were desperate for a first win of the year. Wardens faced league-leaders Dunlop at home, winning the game with a comfortable 5-0 against a very strong opposition.

Wardens were strengthened by the returning Matt Legg, Dan Neeld, Roger Kingston, Phil Rudd and Dan Twigger.

Kenilworth Sporting FC have enjoyed a dream start to their return to non-league football, with four wins from four games. However, their visit to sixth-placed Sutton United on Saturday will be the toughest test for Martin Ascroft's men so far this season.

Kenilworth Wardens Reserves remain waiting for their first win of the season after falling to a 3-1 defeat to Brinklow. A touch of pathetic fallacy was evident as the Wardens' display, like the weather, started brightly, but finished gloomy.

The Wardens should have fallen behind after just three minutes, but Charlie Stranks made a point-blank save from a volley, tipping the ball into the bar.
