Semi finals await for Wardens after win over Brinklow

Kenilworth Wardens booked their place in the semi final of the Stan Oulds Cup with a 3-0 win over high-flying Brinklow.
Brinklow had won six on the spin against Kenilworth, including a 6-0 thumping on the opening game of the season.
But Wardens looked the more dangerous of the two sides in the opening minutes, with James Clay, Dan Twigger and Adam Hnat all linking up well for two early half chances.
Wardens deservedly took the lead on 20 minutes.
The excellent Luke Hurst, on his first start for the club, played a pass into Twigger on the half way line, who flicked the ball onto the deep run of Owain Morgan.
Morgan got to the ball before the onrushing keeper, poked it around him to then tapped into the open net for a goal on his debut.
Wardens looked more likely to add to their lead too, with Eamonn Richards setting up Twigger and captain Alex Cockburn going close himself.
After half time Brinklow started to ramp up the pressure and came to equalising on 55 minutes, Oonly to be stopped by an excellent triple save from Tom Day.
Both teams made changes but Wardens' fresh legs allowed them to break through Brinklows pressure.
On 70 minutes Wardens deservedly doubled their lead. Clay clipped a ball over the top for Twigger to chase, the ball bounced over Brinklow's keeper on the edge of the box allowing the forward to pass into the open goal.
Then minutes later it was three. This time Ollie Flynn clipped a ball in behind for Twigger, as he went to finish was pulled back for a clear penalty. Twigger calmly stroked home for his fifth goal in his past three matches.
In the last few minutes Wardens came close to a fourth. Felix Devine stroked narrowly wide after forcing a one-on-one and Twigger's tap-in after an excellent move and cross from Charlie Waters was judged offside.
"Brinklow are a really top team, with excellent footballers," Richards said after the game.
"But we made them look bang average today. That was up there with the best team performance I've managed.
"All 16 lads today were excellent, making subs in the space of 10 minutes usually means you lose structure and focus, but they made us better with the concentration, quality and energy they brought in. Bringing in Luke and Owain makes such a huge difference to our defensive solidity, really big additions for us.
"Obviously having Twigger getting back to fitness is huge for us. And keeping another clean sheet is key. We're a side set up to be hard to beat, too many times this season we've shipped goals and that's the opposite than who we are."
