All three Kenilworth Cricket Club sides tasted victory this Saturday, as the Warwick Road-based club collected a hat trick of wins.

The first XI hosted Standard in the Warwickshire Cricket League Division One, claiming their first win of the season. Whilst the second and third XI's claimed comfortable victories over Fillongley and Alvechurch & Hopwood respectively.

Kenilworth 1st XI v. Standard

The Kenilworth first XI recorded their first League win of the season in a keenly fought encounter against Standard at the club's Warwick Road Ground as they reached 155-6 with four overs to spare to record a fine four-wicket win.

Standard had posted 154-9 in their innings after recovering from 92-6 with Curtis making 21, Phillips 19 and Miller 18.

Six Town bowlers took wickets with Stuart Cope the pick with 2-33. Steve Rhodes claimed 2-41, whilst there was a wicket each for Jack Howard, Joe Atkinson, Matt Casey and from skipper Connor Shingler. Shingler's fine and frugal 10-over spell was rewarded with 1-16.

In reply, Kenilworth had a steady start with Tom Booker making 23. Yet it was a fourth wicket partnership of 55 between Shingler (22) and George Baines (38) that was crucial to edge the Town closer to victory. The firsts got over the line as Adam Huxford (18 not out) and Henry Curran (6 not out) saw the side record their first League win of the season and move off bottom place and out of the early relegation spots.

Fox took 2-29, Patel 2-36. Kidd 1-24 and Phillips 1-31 for Standard.

Kenilworth 2nd XI v. Fillongley

A super bowling spell from Kenilworth's Jono Sparks was the highlight of the day as he took 5-20 from seven overs to rip through the Fillongley line up who were skittled out for 95 inside 29 overs.

Dan Roden weighed in with 2-5, whilst there was a wicket apiece for Kapil Dubey, Dave Gamble and Darius Potten-Ravenshad.

In reply, the Town easily reached the winning post and 97-2 in less than 20 overs as opener, Adie Sellar, hit the winning boundary and end unbeaten on 30.

Sparks was 17 not out whilst Shyaan Imam and Dave Smithson had both earlier made 16 in a one-sided affair that saw the second XI claim an eight-wicket victory and move into third spot in the division.

Kenilworth 3rd XI v. Alvechurch & Hopwood

Alvechurch posted a challenging 181-7 off their 40 overs as More-King made a fine 87. Kenilworth's Ed Smith took 2-35, colt Sam Davis on debut 2-51 with Will Machin, Matt Dadswell and Josh Charlwood a wicket each.

In reply, a solid batting performance ensured Kenilworth reached the target and end the day on 182-5 with three overs to spare as they claimed a five-wicket victory.

Uma Umashanker made 31, Steve Kelley 36, Charlwood 22 and an unbeaten 26 from Keeran Umashanker, in a win that sees the side move into top spot in the Division.
