Kenilworth Cricket Club's third XI are poised to claim the Cotswold Hills Cricket League Division Six, despite conceding a five-wicket defeat to Earlswood in their penultimate game of the season.

KCC continue to sit in top spot, eight points away from league victory with just one game remaining.

Kenilworth posted 150 for eight from their 40 overs on Saturday with youngster Keeran Umashanker top scoring with 33 followed by Dhruv Vyas 31 and an unbeaten 26 from Matt Dadswell

Jenkins took a splendid 3-8 from his nine overs and Maddekar 4-45 for Earlswood.

The hosts then recovered from 0 for two after James Sparks 2-43 took the early wickets. Graham made 42, before Maddekar 43 not out and Jenkins 21 not out teamed up with the bat to see the side to a win as they reached 152 for five with five overs to spare.

This despite Dan Hone taking 2-27 and Will Thompson 1-19 with keeper Vik Joshi taking two catches behind the stumps.

Kenilworth need just three points for promotion and eight points for the title in their last match if second and third placed respectively Bretforton and Elmley Castle win their remaining fixtures.
