Kenilworth Cricket Club Sunday side hosted Leek Wootton in a 40 overs friendly this Sunday.

Kenilworth 146-9 (40 overs) lost to Leek Wootton 147-4 (32.4 overs) by 6 wickets

A superb bowling performance by Leek Wootton's Couchman helped restrict Kenilworth to 146-9 from their 40 overs.

He bowled six consecutive maidens, taking three wickets in the process before ending his seven-over spell with a fine 3-3.

Ansari took 2-11 from his seven overs and Langdon took 2-48.

Young Shyaan Imam hit 50 (6 x 4) for Kenilworth to continue his fine season, Charlie Stranks was unbeaten on 40 (6 x 4), after Andy Dadswell and Gareth Knights had both made 13 before they fell.

They were the only four batsmen to reach double figures as the side struggled to add runs.

In reply, Leek Wootton eased to the winning post with plenty of overs in hand.

Elliot Haynes-Sorrell made an unbeaten and match-winning 54 and Moreau 52 with Budd chipping in with 15 as they reached 147-4 with ease.

This despite Christian Mortlock taking 2-19 and a wicket each for Stranks and Matt Casey for the Town side.
