A national junior padel tournament will take place in Kenilworth this spring, giving young players from across the country the opportunity to compete, gain valuable competitive experience, whilst highlighting the growing opportunities within the sport.

The Kenilworth Junior Padel Grade 3 tournament will be held at Kenilworth Tennis, Squash and Croquet Club on Sunday 3 May 2026.

Organisers say the tournament aims to provide a clear pathway for developing players, offering opportunities to gain ranking points, experience competitive match play and build confidence in a structured competition environment.

Interest in junior padel has been reflected in the progress of players training through the club's coaching programme.

One of Kenilworth's very own - Jake Simpson, recently competed in his first international junior tournament organised by the International Padel Federation in Belgium.

Playing alongside partners from Spain and the UK, he recorded a convincing 6–2, 6–2 victory in one match and narrowly lost another high-level contest 6–2, 7–5.

Coaches at the club say events such as the upcoming Grade 3 tournament are an important step for juniors looking to move from training sessions into competitive play.

Entries for the Kenilworth tournament are open through the LTA competitions platform, with organisers expecting players from across the country to take part. The event is expected to bring together some of the UK's most promising junior players while continuing to support the development of padel at grassroots level.
