Councillor's concern over recommendation for building in Kenilworth

A Warwick councillor has hit out at council officers after they went against expert advice warning against building two detached homes in the garden of a Kenilworth property located in a conservation area.

Cllr Terry Morris (Con, Warwick Saltisford) said such areas needed to be conserved and that he had major concerns over the recommendation from officers that permission for the site in Upper Spring Lane be approved.

Lapworth, Hatton, Warwick, and Leamington stations will be the beneficiary of a new initiative between Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) and Network Rail, as they aim to raise awareness of their 24/7 mental health support line by installing signage at local railway stations.

Posters have recently been installed at 11 railway stations across Coventry and Warwickshire to alert people to the urgent mental health support line, which is available to anybody living in Coventry and Warwickshire.

The future of Kenilworth's local government remains in the balance as officers at Warwick District Council press ahead with their collaboration with neighbouring Stratford District Council after the leader praised the work and savings already achieved.

Councillors at this week's executive meeting supported plans for a joint local plan between the two authorities with £100,000 being allocated to fund the initial work. This will be dependent on Stratford's cabinet members agreeing to move ahead with the scheme when they meet next Monday.

The 16th century pub is supporting the charity Mind to raise awareness around mental health and wellbeing. This comes as the charity have launched a campaign to encourage people to do one thing for better mental health and asking people to share their tips and advice for keeping well.
