With so many of our services stretched during the past nine months, the Mayor of Kenilworth has taken the time to thank the work being done at the Royal Mail Delivery Office in Kenilworth.

People living and working in Kenilworth and the surrounding area are being asked to give their views on how policing should be funded and what should be prioritised locally ahead of what could difficult budget decisions for the year ahead.

A major new consultation, called 'Your Police, Your Views' has been launched by Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe to give people in Kenilworth and across the wider county the opportunity to have their say.

Abbey Fields swimming pool will reopen next Wednesday

Following the end of the second national lockdown, the swimming pool in Abbey Fields, and Castle Farm Recreation Centre will reopen next week alongside other sports facilities owned by Warwick District Council.

The district's leisure centres and outdoor sports facilities will re-open on Wednesday 2 December 2020, in line with the latest government guidelines.

The outstanding work of Kenilworth locals Ciara and Seanna Hamill over the course of the pandemic has been recognised at a special event bringing together the UK's business community. And at 17 and 19 years old respectively, they are the youngest recipients in the UK.

The Roll of Honour was announced at the Social Enterprise Futures summit which took place on November 25 and 26, and saw nearly 1000 attendees come together to celebrate the heroes of the last year.

Parking fees have been suspended at council-owned car parks for December

Festive shoppers in Kenilworth have been handed an early Christmas present after the leader of Warwick District Council announced that parking would be free in council-owned car parks throughout December.

Cllr Andrew Day (Con, Bishop's Tachbrook) said he hoped the move would help support local businesses as they continued their struggle to survive the coronavirus pandemic.

Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Richard Dickson has spoken to Nub News today about the latest government restrictions

Following an announcement this morning from Health Secretary Matt Hancock, Kenilworth and the rest of Warwickshire have been escalated to Tier Three in the UK Government's three-tier system for dealing with Covid-19.

The new restrictions will begin on Thursday, December 3 and will see much harsher restrictions imposed upon the people of Kenilworth than before the second national lockdown began.
