A yellow weather warning of thunderstorms has been announced for Kenilworth this weekend.

The Met Office has put the warning in place from midnight to 9pm on Saturday 19 July.

"Heavy rain, with some thunderstorms, may lead to disruption in places on Friday night and through much of Saturday," the warning said.

Meteorologists said spray and "sudden flooding" could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services," the warning added.

"Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost."
