TWENTY-FIVE Kenilworth eateries will begin to roll out the UK Government's 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme as of today, and will be offering this incentive until 31 August.

The nationwide programme will see over 72,000 venues across the country offer customers 50% off the price of food and drink purchases, Monday to Wednesday each week.

Discounts will be allowed for up to £10 per person.

The scheme does not allow for discounts to be applied to purchases of alcohol, nor for takeaway diners.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak, who announced the scheme on 8th July, said "our 'eat out to help out' scheme's number one aim is to help protect the jobs of 1.8 million chefs, waiters, and restaurateurs by boosting demand and getting customers through doors."

As long as a venue was registered with a local authority on or before July 7th, and they had a designated dining or drinking area, they were eligible to enrol.

The Gov.uk website provides a full list of the venues operating within the new scheme, and allows for you to search for venues near your postcode. A link to the site can be found here.
