1. Knight's Tournament

The Knight's Tournament is returning to Kenilworth Castle from Saturday 27 to Monday 29 August.

"Go back in time and get closer to the action as rival knights compete in the ultimate test of strength and skill at Kenilworth Castle's Knights' Tournament.

"Swords will clash and the winner will be decided in the Grand Melee finale. Immerse yourself in medieval life in the encampment, where you can meet people from the Middle Ages and witness life at camp.

"Don't miss one of history's most spectacular sporting contests - book online and save!"

More details here.

2. The Ladykillers

The Talisman Theatre's latest production 'The Ladykillers' starts on Monday, August 29.

The Ladykillers is a classic black comedy; a sweet little old lady, alone in her house, is pitted against five oddball criminals who'll stop at nothing.

The plot is centred around the septuagenarian Mrs Wilberforce, who accommodates Professor Marcus, a very keen amateur musician, in her very creaky and subsided Victorian house, at the end of a cul-de-sac near to Kings Cross St Pancras station.

But what Mrs Wilberforce doesn't know is that the five musicians are actually planning a security van heist, and manage to successfully execute the robbery and get her to deliver the loot safely back to the house, assisted by the local constabulary, all in absolute ignorance.

3. Downton Abbey - A New Era

More independent cinema courtesy of the Talisman Theatre this Saturday!

From award-winning creator Julian Fellowes comes the much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon. Set against the intriguing prospect of a new fangled talking movie being filmed at Downton, 'A New Era' reunites the beloved cast as The Crawley family go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess' newly inherited villa.

Bar is open pre-screening and drinks can be taken in to see the film where there are no adverts!
