Here are our top picks for the coming days:

1. Ad-Free Cinema

Cinema will return to the Talisman Theatre this Saturday (May 14) in the form of 'King Richard'.

Starring Will Smith the film tells the story of Richard Williams as he aims to write his daughters, Venus and Serena, into history.

Tickets are £5 in advance or on the door, the bar will be open and there are no commercial adverts!

2. Vegetarian Week

Starting on Monday (May 16) it is vegetarian week at The Almanack.

Running until May 22 the Abbey End pub's chefs will be showing what they can do, all without meat!

So whether you are a vegetarian, flexitarian or just fancy trying something new, book your table now.

3. The Mill on the Floss

And the Talisman Theatre has more to offer next week with The Mill on the Floss coming to the main stage from Monday.

Running until next weekend, the Barrow Road theatre's production of the George Eliot classic has actually been delayed by two years due to the pandemic.

The story follows the journey of Maggie Tulliver - one of the first truly feminist heroines - as she befriends the disfigured Phillip Wakem.
