Kenilworth play area to shut so new equipment can be installed

Works to install the new play area at Castle Farm in Kenilworth will begin this autumn, Warwick District Council has confirmed.
The local authority had planned to renovate the play area in time for the summer holidays, with a council report saying last year it has some of the oldest equipment in the area.
The project was delayed as the council could not find a drainage contractor needed to sort the waterlogging issues at the site.
In preparation for the work, the existing Castle Farm play area will be closed from Monday 8 September and will remain so until the new installation is completed, tested and ready for use.
The new play area has been designed with feedback from Evergreen School.
Works at Castle Farm will see drainage improved, new safety surfacing installed and addition provision for access needs.
A council statement said: "Designed with feedback from Evergreen School and in partnership with play design experts, incorporating new equipment for all ages from tots to teens, the new areas will bring the community a new play experience to aid learning, social mobility and inclusivity."
