A video posted on TikTok this week has shown of the current state of the former Kenilworth School on Rouncil Lane.

The site, which is shut off to the public, is awaiting demolition before it - and the Leyes Lane plot - are redeveloped into houses.

Posted by the account 'Mr Aiborne' the video starts by saying "come explore this abandoned Kenilworth sixth form school" - albeit incorrectly saying it was abandoned during the pandemic.

The footage - which has over 400,000 views - shows the empty hallways, eerie sports hall and debris across the floors.

The students' artwork can still be seen on the walls around the canteen, itself ripped out of the cooking equipment.

Some smashed windows are also visible in the footage.

A walk to the rear of the site shows the overgrown grounds, weeds and decaying patio area.Mr Airborne's other videos include a tour of an abandoned morgue, an abandoned church in Birmingham and a pyramid in Scotland.

Other videos show him recording security trying to find him while he hides inside another abandoned building.

The video comes as Kenilworth and Warwick SNT have had to issue a warning to parents about youngsters breaking into the closed sites.

"We don't expect the younger residents of Kenilworth and their friends to know much about the dangers of asbestos, or to be expert building inspectors," a force statement said.

"That's why we're asking parents and carers across the town for a favour. Can you have a chat with your child(ren) to remind them to stay away from disused/derelict buildings.

"We're getting reports of disused buildings being broken into and used as hangout spots and - in some cases - being trashed.

"We're aware that hanging around in 'spooky' buildings and smashing things up might be an exciting prospect for some of our town's younger residents - but inhaling asbestos fibres or being injured by debris isn't that fun.

"Nor are the criminal consequences that people engaging in this behaviour might face."
