After reaching the semi-final, Warwickshire's Great British Bake Off has been axed from the show, which aired on Tuesday (28 October).

The episode, which saw the contestants battle it out in Patisserie Week, also saw Toby Littlewood, 29, from Warwickshire, say goodbye to his fellow bakers.

Bake Off judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith described picking Toby to leave the show was one of the toughest decisions they had made so far in the series.

Ultimately, the decision came down to the slip up that was Toby's piece in the technical, where his cream horns melted in a puddle of cream under the warm tent temperatures, landing him last place.

Taking to Instagram, Toby shared: "When Paul told me he wanted to be nipple deep in a pool together, I guess he didn't mean a pool of mousseline… "It's tough to come back from serving up a scale model of Shreks Swamp.

"I actually rewrote my recipe and design for the showstopper after day one; I knew I'd need to pull something out of the bag if I was going to even get close to a comeback and I'm so happy with how it turned out.

"With my Hollywood Handy, Starry B and Techy Tobes title, I leave the tent so proud of my achievements. I thought it was curtains after my landscape cake tbh so not bad to be a semi-finalist when you think about it. "I leave behind 3 exceptionally talented bakers, and wonderful people, to go into the final and I can't think of anyone who would deserve it more."

Left in the competition, and battling out in the final are Jasmine, Aaran and Tom with the final airing at 9pm on Tuesday 4 November on Channel 4.
