A new sandwich shop which opened in Kenilworth in June is hosting a charity morning this Sunday.

Located on the corner of Talisman Square in the former Orangery flower shop, Wedge has already proved a major hit with locals.

Run by husband-and-wife team Tom and Lucy Swindells, Wedge serves delicious focaccia sandwiches which are freshly made each morning, alongside a selection of patisserie items and loaves of sourdough bread.

And this Sunday (October 22) Wedge will be open from 9.30am to 11.30am serving a 'Sausage Sizzle' and hot drinks to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

All proceeds from the morning - and those collected during the week - will be donated to the neurosurgery department to help fund the much-needed iMRI scanner.

As well as sandwiches, Wedge has a popular coffee offering, a range of cold drinks and - since the start of Autumn - the arrival of morning porridge and a lunchtime macaroni cheese.

The range of pastries, bread and focaccia sandwiches are all available to grab and go, or to sit in and enjoy.

And last week the business saw its exterior signage finally painted to officially let people know its name!

Wedge is open Monday to Saturday, 8am until 4pm.
