The University of Warwick has been named as one of the top 80 universities in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022.

Ranked at 78th in the world, the university has also been named as the ninth best in the UK.

The news follows soon after the 2021 National Student Survey placed Warwick third in the Russell Group, and 13th in the UK, for Overall Satisfaction.

Vice Chancellor Professor Stuart Croft said he is "delighted" by the news which shows the "tireless dedication" of the university's staff.

"During a time of uncertainty in the world, our community has continued to deliver world-class teaching, support our city during its year as UK City of Culture, undertake vital research to tackle the challenges that face us all, amongst many other things," he said.

"Many congratulations to everyone for these remarkable achievements – and thank-you for all you have done for our community."
