The University of Warwick has further cemented its position as one of the UK's best universities - after being ranked ninth overall by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.

The announcement means the university has now been named in the top ten every year for the past 30 years since the guide was first published in 1992.

The highly respected rankings are determined by a wide range of factors including student experience, teaching quality, pioneering research, course completion rates and graduate prospects.

Several Warwick departments ranked highly for their subject areas, including:

  • First in the UK in three subjects: Business, management and marketing, Creative writing and Economics.
  • Top fove in the UK in a further nine subjects: Liberal Arts (2nd); Politics (2nd), Accounting and finance (3rd), Drama, dance and cinematics (3rd), Italian (3rd), Mathematics (4th), German (4th), Classics and Ancient History (5th) and Philosophy (5th).
  • Top ten in the UK in 21 out of 29 subjects overall.

The Good University Guide, which ranks 132 universities in the UK, aims to help prospective students make an "informed choice" about their higher education options, according to the Times.

Professor Stuart Croft, vice-chancellor and president of the University of Warwick, said: "These rankings again underline the high quality of the student experience at Warwick. We have world class teachers, cutting-edge facilities and a highly motivated and ambitious student community. Those elements combine to create a thriving environment to learn and grow within.

"I'm very proud of what we have achieved together over the last 12 months.

"Being named as one of the UK's top ten universities is again testament to everyone's dedication, commitment and passion for delivering an outstanding education to our students."
