The windows of the Post Office building on Warwick Road could be given a makeover if plans from the town council move forward.

A report presented at the last Kenilworth Town Council meeting from the town centre working group said the frontage was one of the "least attractive" in the town centre.

The council was told that early discussions have already been held with the Post Office and that it seemed likely the redecoration would be permitted.

Initially councillors had considered using images of the Queen similar to the ones used in Abbey End during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, but this was deemed no longer appropriate.

The report said: "The frontage of the Post Office is the least attractive one in Warwick Road and enquiries have therefore been made to see if they would be prepared to allow us to decorate it as we have other windows.

"The indications received are that they would allow this."

It added: "What is actually used would however be subject to the Post Offices' approval.

"We suggest that further enquiry be made of the Post Office as to what image they would accept and subject thereto the purchase of images be delegated to the clerk and chair of finance."

The report also said that some of the planters in the town centre could be replaced and that discussions were continuing about the long-term use of Station Road.
