The bridge over the A46 at Stoneleigh will close for nearly two weeks next month, for works around the new junction.

Stoneleigh Road will be closed from 4 March to 17 March between the two A46 slip roads to allow for the new lighting columns to be installed.

The closure will be in place 24 hours a day.

It is expected that Dalehouse Lane will have re-opened by this time for ease of access to the town.

Stoneleigh Road was closed for over two months last winter as works on the bridge continued to be delayed.

The closure means anyone wishing to travel south on the A46 from the University of Warwick must now pass through Kenilworth to reach the dual carriageway.

The £38 million project may now not be finished until later this year, WCC has also confirmed to Nub News.

The project to build a new bridge and roundabout at the A46 junction has been hit by major delays.

Originally planned to be complete in summer 2022, the major scheme has been slowed by "various issues" including supply problems.
