Bridleways and paths across Warwickshire could be changed in the next few years as the county council calls on local residents to share their views.

Warwickshire County Council is looking to create an 'improvement plan' for public rights of way, having launched a public consultation at the start of the year

There are approximately 1,700 miles of public rights of way across Warwickshire, that play a huge part in many people's daily lives, covering both rural and urban areas.

The council is calling for people to take part in the consultation to help them put to action what changes might be needed for the pathways - even if you do not actually use them.

Originally set to finish next month, the consultation has now been extended until Sunday 7 April.

Cllr Jan Matecki, portfolio holder for transport and planning said: “Our extensive network of public rights of way are one of the many things that make Warwickshire a great place to live, work and play.

"These vital active travel highways support a wide range of activities from exploring the county’s natural wonders to allowing our residents to get to and from workplaces and schools.

“We have had a fantastic response from residents so far and I hope to see as many as possible taking the opportunity afforded by this engagement exercise to tell us what they think about our public rights of way which will allow us to prioritise the improvements that will keep them relevant and useful for generations to come.”
