The King's New Years Honours list has been released.

The list recognises the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the UK.

She is described in the list as a "grassroots champion and mentor".

The former world number five announced her retirement from professional squash this year.

Meanwhile Rebbeca Bollands has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire.

The headteacher at Earlson Primary School has been given the honour for her "services to cultural education in the West Midlands".
