Two Kenilworth residents named in New Year's Honours list

The King's New Years Honours list has been released.

The list recognises the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the UK.

Two people in Kenilworth have been recognised in the list this New Year's.

Squash player Sarah-Jane Perry has been named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her services to squash.

She is described in the list as a "grassroots champion and mentor".

The former world number five announced her retirement from professional squash this year.

Meanwhile Rebbeca Bollands has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire.

The headteacher at Earlson Primary School has been given the honour for her "services to cultural education in the West Midlands".
