Trees and bushes are being cut back along a busy road between Kenilworth and Leamington Spa this week as preparations for a new cycleway get underway.

Local Liberal Democrat councillors updated locals to say the works would begin on the A452 Kenilworth Road this week.

The "vegetation clearance works" are taking place between Northumberland Road and Sandy Lane on the eastern side of the road.

This is expected to last around two weeks with temporary traffic lights being in place.

Works are reportedly for the next phase of the much-delayed Kenilworth to Leamington cycle route (K2L), which is expected to begin in the summer.

This would make more sense if cyclists actually used the cycle paths instead of riding along next to them on the road.🙄
