Motorists and residents are being warned of traffic chaos around Kenilworth's Castle Farm Recreation Centre this weekend.

Councillors and locals have complained over the past few months about dangerous and inconsiderate parking around the leisure centre, with the issue set to be even worse over the coming days.

A notice shared by Kenilworth Town Council said National Grid works are underway at the entrance to Castle Farm over the weekend.

Meanwhile a badminton tournament and scheduled football matches are set to bring even more cars to the area.

"We have been notified that Castle Farm and the surrounding area will be very busy tomorrow morning (Saturday 8 February) due to scheduled football matches, a badminton tournament and National Grid works being undertaken at the entrance to the sports centre," the update said.

"A communication has been shared asking all involved to park considerately and to use public carparks wherever possible.

"It will be wise to avoid the area if you are able to."

At a recent Warwick District Council meeting the issues around Castle Farm were raised with the councillor in charge of the issue suggesting parking charges could be the solution.
