The Kenilworth Centre has benefitted from a £1,000 donation from the mayor's charity fund this week.

Presented by outgoing Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Richard Dickson, the donation has been made to help fund the work the centre does to combat social isolation.

Cllr Dickson met centre manager Holly Hewitt yesterday (May 4) morning to make the donation.

Cllr Dickson's two chosen charities as mayor were the Kenilworth Centre and the Kenilworth-Uyogo Friendship link.

In February it was announced that the centre would be launching a 'youth wellbeing hub' to provide free mentoring to local young people. This week's donation will go some way to ensuring that this service continues to be available.

Cllr Dickson said: "One of my last duties as Mayor of Kenilworth 2020/21 was to present this morning a cheque for £1,000 to the Kenilworth Centre for their work to reduce social isolation, especially amongst young people, in our town.

"Thanks to Holly Hewitt and all the team at tKC and to everyone who's given to the mayoral charities this year."

Cllr Peter Jones was elected as Cllr Dickson's replacement as mayor last night.
