More disruption is coming to Kenilworth next week as the A429 closes for another three weeks.

Having had temporary traffic lights on it for the past week, Kenilworth Road will shut again between August 26 and September 20 for HS2 works.

The main route from Coventry to the town closed for a month in June for the new bridge to be installed.

While this was completed on schedule, the latest lengthy closure is needed for the "final phase" of works.

An HS2 statement said: "We are in the final phase of delivering the realigned A429 Kenilworth Road and the new over bridge.

"We need to finish the embankments, reinstate and resurface the footpaths, position final utilities and complete the final highway drainage works.

"To carry out the works in a safe and secure environment, we will need to install temporary traffic lights for one week.

"We will also need to close the road whilst we complete the works."
