All lanes have now reopened on the M42 after a lorry breaking down had caused three miles of queues.

National Highways says there are still "residual delays" on the northbound carriageway between J3 (Portway) and J3a (M42/M40 interchange).

Traffic officers have been at the scene where a lorry had blocked one of three lanes and was causing 40 minute delays.

"Expect residual delays as traffic flow returns to normal. Thank you for your patience," an update said.
