Three men in Kenilworth attempt to steal car with driver still in it

Police are appealing for witnesses after after three men tried to steal a car whilst the driver was still in it.

At around 2.20am this morning (May 12) a man driving a black BMW was stopped on Dalehouse Lane by three unknown men. An altercation occurred during which the three men tried to steal the car from the driver.

The victim managed to leave the scene still with his vehicle, but a sports bag was stolen during the incident.

He received minor injuries and the offenders were seen heading off in the direction of Watling road.

A police spokesperson said: "At approximately 2.20am on Wednesday 12 May 2021 a robbery took place on Dalehouse Lane, Kenilworth. A male driving a black BMW was stopped by three unknown males on Dalehouse Lane near to the junction of Common Lane.

"An altercation ensued on Dalehouse Lane (stretch between Common Lane and Mill End). Offenders attempted to steal the victim's car.

"The victim managed to leave the scene in his vehicle having sustained minor injuries. A blue and white sports bag was taken during the incident.

"Offender(s) were seen heading in the direction of Watling Road."
