Thousands of visitors are set to celebrate the very best of local farming, food and rural life when the Kenilworth Show returns this weekend.

Coventry and Warwickshire's largest one-day agricultural show, which takes place on Stoneleigh Road, east of the A46, this Saturday, promises something for all ages from livestock competitions, classic cars and equestrian displays to family entertainment, live music on the Trailer Stage and hands-on countryside activities.

Main Ring attractions include a titanic tug of war tussle between Warwickshire Young Farmers and Coventry Rugby Club, crowd favourite Kangaroo Kid, whose daring motorcycle stunts are set to thrill, and the British Scurry and Trials Driving team, a headline arena act in the high-speed equestrian sport of scurry driving.

Visitors can also enjoy a traditional horse and dray from Hook Norton Brewery, the ever-popular Dog and Sheep Show and a vintage and modern machinery parade. With entertainment throughout the day, there will be plenty to keep the whole family entertained in and around the Main Ring.

Show Director Charlie Weetman said: "The Kenilworth Show is one of the highlights of Warwickshire's rural calendar, bringing together the very best of agriculture, food, countryside pursuits and family entertainment in one place.

"From award-winning livestock and thrilling arena displays to hands-on activities for children and local food producers, the show offers a unique opportunity for people to connect with rural life. We can't wait to welcome visitors from across the county and beyond for what promises to be a fantastic day out."

TV personality, journalist and musician Fuzz Townshend will run the rule over the classic cars on display as he goes in search of 'Fuzz's Favourite'. The 61-year-old Brummie, co-presenter of hit TV show Car SOS, will be flanked by family members for his second visit to the show.

Fuzz, a former resident of Kenilworth, said: "We're all looking forward to a great day out that combines local community effort and local producers along with exhibitions like the classic cars - which I can't wait to judge.

"There will be so much going on during the day. I suggest anyone in the area gets on board and gets on down to a festival of local farming like no other."

The day will culminate with the much-loved livestock parade, showcasing some of the finest animals from across the country. More than 100 cattle and 250 sheep, representing over 25 breeds, will compete in the livestock section, while the equestrian area will feature classes for riders of all abilities alongside displays from heavy horses and horse-drawn carriages.

Across the showground, visitors can explore more than 120 trade stands, browse arts, crafts, jewellery and homeware, and discover local produce in the new Food Hall.

Parents will find plenty to keep children entertained, with bouncy castles, go-karts, fairground attractions, face painting and craft activities all on offer. The Discovery Barn will offer hands-on

experiences including sausage roll-making workshops, traditional craft demonstrations, farm animal encounters and educational exhibits exploring food production, farming and wildlife.

The Village Green will provide live entertainment throughout the day, kicking off with Bhangra Smash Up, renowned for their lively, energetic performance and infectious party atmosphere. They will be joined on the bill by show favourites Helen Pearson and Jessie Lea, alongside the Big Sing Choir of BGT fame and the colourful Plum Jerkum Border Morris Dancers.

With food outlets, seating and a public bar nearby, the Village Green is set to be the perfect place to relax, enjoy the entertainment and soak up the show atmosphere.
