The vaccination centre at NAEC Stoneleigh has been making extraordinary progress and has now vaccinated over 50,000 Coventry and Warwickshire residents.
This is a major milestone in the progression of the Covid-19 vaccination programme in Coventry and Warwickshire and is a testament to the incredible hard work of all the volunteers, health workers and staff involved.
Averaging around 1,000 patients a day, the Stoneleigh Vaccination Centre is the largest vaccination centre within Coventry and Warwickshire and its team vaccinate people within all eligible cohorts including unpaid carers who have recently been invited to book their appointment.
Now, having passed the 50,000 mark, the local vaccination programme is inviting more members of the public to have their vaccine.
Assistant director of operations, Rob Spencer comments: "Invitations are now going out to people in Coventry and Warwickshire aged 50 to 54 to come and have their vaccine, in the latest stage of the programme.
"I want to urge anyone yet to be vaccinated to take up the offer. Text messages went out on with a link enabling people to pick a convenient slot at a NHS vaccine centre like NAEC Stoneleigh, or pharmacy-led service, through the national booking service website.
"People who cannot go online can call 119 to book an appointment.
"To reach 50,000 vaccinations is a wonderful achievement and really shows how much hard work and effort is being put into this rollout.
"This all means that a significant portion of the local community has been protected, so everyone at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) wants say a massive thank you to the staff and volunteers at Stoneleigh who have made this possible."
