'Very busy' few weeks at Waverley sees birthdays, retirements, St Patrick's Day and Easter celebrated

The last month and a half has been "very busy indeed" at Waverley, with the day centre celebrating St Patrick's Day, World Health Day, a birthday, a retirement, an award for a "very special lady" and last but by no means least Easter.
Waverley started with St Patrick's day which turned the Waverley Road centre into a sea of green, white and orange to celebrate this day.
Everyone got into the Irish spirit.
Not long after St Patrick's Day, Waverley bid a fond farewell to Eileen who has provided its customers with over 10 years of "delightful service".
Sue LaVerne, chair of Waverley Trustee Board presented Eileen with flowers to thank her for all her support over the years.
There was no stopping Waverley with the celebrations, which was delighted for "our lovely Sue" who was given an award by Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Alan Chalmers for exceptional service to the town.
"Well done, Sue! Very well deserved," the Waverley team said.
"Obviously, we celebrated with cake, which is always the Waverley way.
"Sue provides us with food fit for a king and queen Tuesday to Friday."
On World Health Day, Waverley was supported by The Reinge Clinic, based in Kenilworth, which put the clients through their paces with some different exercises.
"Everyone of our clients who attended thoroughly enjoyed Gina's session," the team added.
Continuing even more with celebrations, Lynne retired and Sue's birthday came around. It would not be the Waverley way without cake, afternoon tea and of course flowers for the "special people we consider as family".
Lynne has been a kitchen volunteer working with Sue and has been an "amazing part of the Waverley family" over the years.

The busy few weeks ended with Easter with the team decorating the centre and providing a themed lunch.
Bunny ears even appeared at one point!
Waverley has been providing food and friendship to older citizens in Kenilworth for over 40 years.
"There are so many benefits to getting out and about and feeling part of what is going on," the team said.
"Waverley members come together to enjoy a two-course lunch and a variety of activities surrounded by staff and volunteers."

"For many of the members a visit to Waverley has become part of their weekly routine, something to look forward to and new friendships made.
"Why not consider giving a visit to Waverley a try or maybe you have elderly relative or neighbour who might enjoy the experience."
Transport is available within the local area - spaces permitting.
