TV star, singer, radio presenter and author Alexander Armstrong is set to come to Kenilworth for a free 'meet and great' event next month.

The 'Pointless' host will head to Kenilworth Books on Wednesday 26 November to celebrate his new children's book being published in paperback.

Evenfall: The Golden Linnet tells the story of 12-year-old Sam as his world is blown apart when he discovers that his family was once at the heart of a secret society that had long protected the world. Now a public enemy is closing in, destroying everything in its path to find the source of the order's hidden magic.

Alexander will be at Kenilworth Books from 4pm until 5pm, signing copies of his book and meeting locals.

"We love having authors at Kenilworth Books, and this event in November promises to be one of our most popular yet," said Judy Brook, owner of Kenilworth Books.

"Most people will recognise Alexander Armstrong from the TV, but maybe fewer people will know he has brought out his first book.

"Evenfall: The Golden Linnet has already proved a hit, so we are delighted to have Alexander come and visit us.

"We also love encouraging young readers, so this is a great chance for youngsters to come and meet an author in person."

The meet and greet at Kenilworth Books will follow a big school event earlier in the day at Kenilworth School, organised by children's bookseller Deborah Texeira.

Year five pupils from local schools will be brought together and given the chance to own a signed book from an author they have actually met.

"We are very excited to announce that Alexander Armstrong of 'Pointless fame' will be celebrating the publication of the paperback version of Evenfall," Deborah said.

"This is Alexander's debut novel and is a fast paced, exciting adventure.

"We are delighted to be able to host Alexander at a very special event for the Year 5 children of all the local schools in Kenilworth.

"This event will take place at Kenilworth School and Sixth Form on Wednesday 26 November.

"There is no cost to families or to the school to attend this event. Any transport costs are very kindly being met by our friends at Persimmon Homes."
