Kenilworth School has been named the fourth best comprehensive secondary school by the Sunday Times.

The 33rd edition of The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide 2026 has today (December 5) been announced.

Recognised as the definitive ranking of the UK's top primary and secondary state and independent schools, the guide includes a fully searchable national database of more than 2,000 schools by name, local authority, town and postcode.

As well as being ranked fourth in the West Midlands, Kenilworth was rated as 230th best comprehensive school in the country.

Following the announcement, Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust CEO Hayden Abbott told Nub News: "We are absolutely delighted to announce that Kenilworth School has been recognised as one of the top state schools in the West Midlands.

"The school's unique environment fosters not only academic excellence but also a wide range of enrichment activities, all thanks to the dedication of our committed staff.

"The culture of student leadership is deeply ingrained, empowering students to take ownership of their learning and contribute positively to both the school and the local community.

"I am immensely proud of our school and confident that our vibrant community continues to lay a strong foundation for the ongoing success of our current and future students."

Warwickshire features heavily in the guide, with Kenilworth rated just behind third-placed North Leamington School.

Higham Lane in Nuneaton also features at number eight, while Warwick School was named among the top private secondary schools.

King Edward VI and Stratford Girls' Grammar School in Stratford-upon-Avon as well as Rugby High School were all included in the top ten state secondary schools in the West Midlands.

Helen Davies, editor of The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide, said: "The educational landscape is testing – budget challenges, rising student mental health issues, special educational needs and an increasingly uncertain future.

"But there is also so much to celebrate from the dedication of teachers who are finding ever more innovative and impactful ways to enrich their students and give them the very best start in life.

"As well as celebrating the academic excellence of the top schools it is uplifting to see how they are shaping their students to be ready for the 21st century, and instilling a lifelong love of learning."
