Here are our top picks for the coming days.

1. Saturday Signing

Come and meet author Taruna Chauhanwho will be signing copies of her new book, Recipes From A Gujarati Kitchen at Kenilworth Books on Saturday (4 October).

Recipes from a Gujarati Kitchen contains recipes that have been passed down to Taruna Chauhan from her mother, mother-in-law, and other family members.

She began writing after the passing of her mother, to capture in print the traditional recipes that have only been passed between her family orally, and so anyone who wants to learn to cook can give them a try.

2. Talisman Fringe

It's the first Thursday in the month today (October 2) which means it is time for Talisman Fringe!

This month's theme is The Seven Deadly Sins and as always there will be showings at 7.30pm and 9pm at the Holiday Inn.

Organisers said: "Join us on a journey through the underworld as we explore the seven tiers of purgatory. Inspired by Dante’s The Divine Comedy, we will use drama, comedy, music and song to delve into the human condition as we explore the sins that mar our lives and those that fall foul of them.

"Perhaps this evening will be the redeeming of your mortal soul, or perhaps it will just be another entertaining way to spend a Thursday evening."

More details here.
