Here are our top picks for the coming days.
1. A Streetcar Named Desire
This week the Talisman Theatre is "delighted" to be staging of Tennessee Williams' best-loved classic drama 'A Streetcar Named Desire'.
After a hugely successful run across the Sheffield Theatres last year and a recent sell-out run in the West End in 2023, this landmark play will bring its fascinatingly powerful story of division, brutality, desire and fragility to the Talisman Theatre main stage this spring.
Set in 1940s deep south USA, the play follows the experiences of Blanche DuBois, a fragile, fading Southern belle who moves in with her sister, Stella, and crude brother-in-law, Stanley Kowalski, in New Orleans.
As Blanche's illusions and refined past clash with Stanley's harsh realism, the play erupts into a hard-hitting whirlwind of conflict, torment, deception and desire. Now among the finest and most-performed dramas, the play provides a poignant look into the division between classes and genders and the destructive power of desire and fate.
A Streetcar Named Desire runs from Monday 18 to Saturday 23 May at the Talisman Theatre and Arts Centre.

2. The Great British Farm-Fest
A brand-new national celebration of Britain's farmers, their craft and their way of life will take place this weekend, at the historic home of the Royal Show — Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.
The Great British Farm-Fest will bring together farmers, food lovers, families and festival goers for three unforgettable days of live music, working displays, livestock, machinery and mouth-watering food.
Headlining the weekend are Jeremy Clarkson, Lisa Hogan, Kaleb Cooper, Charlie Ireland, Adam Henson and Matt Tebbutt — alongside dozens of farmers, musicians, chefs and rural artisans from across the UK.
Clarkson will be joined by his farming friends for all three days, bringing with him The Farmer's Dog, award-winning Hawkstone Brewery, crafted using premium ingredients from British Farms and the world-famous Diddly Squat Farm Shop.

3. The Beaujacks
A Dutch rock and blues band is set to come to a Kenilworth pub next weekend as part of a whistlestop tour of the UK.
The Beaujacks will play at The Tiltyard on Sunday 24 May as one of just three dates they are playing before heading back to the Netherlands.
Having played at the Leyes Lane pub on an annual basis for the past few years, their return is very much by popular demand and is the latest in a series of popular events organised by pub owners Amanda and Dave Shipley.
"People know how much we love having them here," Amanda told Nub News.
"If people have seen them before, they already know it's going to be a brilliant night.
"If they haven't they better get this in their diaries and make sure they don't miss out."

4. Living History Afternoon
Kenilworth Town Council is hosting a Living History Afternoon on Sunday 24 May!
Completely free to attend it will include a whole range of activities from horse and cart rides to dressing up in authentic 1500s costume.
Head to Abbey Fields between 2pm to 5pm to get involved,

5. Street Festival
A popular Kenilworth street festival is celebrating its fourth year as it returns this May.
Run by the independent businesses on Castle Hill, Castle Hill Fest was first held in 2023 to mark the coronation celebrations and has been run on a number of times since.
Since then it has been held several times a year, including multiple successful events across 2025.
And it is set to return for the first time this year on Monday 25 May, with a later finish.
