More than 2,800 visitors flocked to Abbey Fields Swimming Pool on Saturday and Sunday 11-12 July as Kenilworth's long awaited new facility's doors were opened to the public for the first time.
To mark the occasion Everyone Active in partnership with Warwick District Council hosted an open weekend for the local community packed with free water-related and family fun activities.
This followed the formal opening and ribbon cutting on Wednesday 8 July attended by Kenilworth's MP Sir Jeremy Wright, the Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Alison Insley, Warwick District Council councillors, officers and project partners and the Everyone Active team.
Warwick District Council's portfolio holder for safer, healthier and active communities, Cllr Jim Sinnott, said: "It's great to see this wonderful new facility open and up and running and busy.
"We very much hope that additional year-round pool space and accessible features offered here will be welcomed by families, schools and swimming clubs, from across the district as well as less confident swimmers and disabled users, and also that the café will become a vibrant hub for all park users, not just those visiting the pool.
"The opening of Abbey Fields completes Warwick District Council's multi-million-pound investment in the district's leisure centres over the past decade which has included Newbold Comyn, St Nicholas Park and Castle Farm clearly demonstrating our commitment to the health and wellbeing of local residents both now and for the future."

Alex Fuoco-Lang, Everyone Active area contract manager said: "We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along to our opening weekend at Abbey Fields Swimming Pool and helped to make it a wonderful success.
"It was proud moment for us to welcome the community to our new state-of-the-art swimming facility while offering a range of activities following the investment with Warwick District Council. We look forward to helping people of all ages and abilities work toward their health and fitness goals in this fantastic space to swim."
The new centre is open from 7am to 9pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 5pm at weekends and offers a wide variety of water-based sessions as well as Everyone Active's award-winning learn to swim programme.
In addition, there is enhanced provision for the disabled to access the water using the latest 'pool-pod' lift and water level changing technology.
